ComAp focuses on the quality and safety of its products. Therefore, the process of testing, inspection and certification is an integral part of the development and introducing ComAp products to the market.Testing and evaluation already take place during product development. For these purposes, ComAp has its own testing laboratory, where can perform most of the relevant tests on its own. All measuring devices are regularly checked and calibrated. For verification of results and certification itself, ComAp cooperates with many Czech and foreign accredited laboratories.
ComAp tests and evaluates the compliance of its products with the requirements of the relevant EU/government directives and standards. The EU Declaration of Conformity is a document issued by ComAp which demonstrates that the product's conformity has been properly assessed and that the product meets all relevant requirements. In addition to issuing an EU declaration of conformity, the product is marked with the CE mark. The CE marking is a graphic representation of a declaration of product conformity with harmonised technical standards.
CE marking and the issuance of an EU declaration of conformity are essential requirements for products to be placed on the EU market.
UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed)
The UKCA marking is the product marking used for products being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales).ComAp evaluates the compliance of its products with the requirements of designated standards, which the UK introduced to replace EU harmonised standards. The UKCA mark on ComAp products ensures that the product meets regulations regarding health, safety, and environmental protection in Great Britain.
UL Listed/UL Recognised markings
Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) is one of the world’s most important independent organisations for the safety testing and certification of materials, components and products. In contrast to the CE marking, the UL marking is not required by law. But it is a very important certification especially for the North American market where wholesalers can refuse to supply a product without the UL Mark, US authorities can refuse to install products or equipment if they do not have a test seal or insurance company can refuse to deny the claim, if its inspector determines a fire was caused by a product that was not UL certified.
Product safety and product reliability play an important role for ComAp. It is the reason why ComAp demonstrates compliance with its products with applicable safety requirements and lets UL test them. UL certifies that ComAp´s products meet the Standards and awards the UL Mark. Not only new products, but also production processes and existing products that are modified must be tested by UL to carry the UL Mark. The test seal is proof for users that the product meets a high safety standard, because UL regulates the requirements for product safety in much more detail than IEC standards and also checks itself whether the requirements are met.UL Listed and UL Recognised marking are not the same. UL recognition is for components and UL Listed is for stand-alone products.
While they both ensure a set of industry standards, they are used for different products and in different capacities. Far more testing is involved in UL Listed certification. UL Listed indicates that the product meets industry and safety standards and has passed UL´s full battery of tests for the product´s intended use. Products that are certified to safety-related standards were evaluated against reasonably foreseeable safety-related hazards including fire, electrical shock, and mechanical issues. Being UL certified illustrates our dedication to consumer safety, as well as the quality of our products.

Marine classification societies (IACS) certification
The International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) is a technically based non-governmental organization that currently consists of eleven members marine classification societies.
Marine classification is a system for promoting the safety of life, property, and the environment primarily through the establishment and verification of compliance with technical and engineering standards for the design, construction and life-cycle maintenance of ships, offshore units, and other marine-related equipment. These standards are contained in rules established by each Society.
Although IACS is a non-governmental organization, it also plays a role within the International Maritime Organization (IMO), for which IACS provides technical support and guidance and develops unified interpretations of the international statutory regulations developed by the member states of the IMO. Once adopted, these interpretations are applied by each IACS member society, when certifying compliance with the statutory regulations on behalf of authorizing flag states.
ComAp develops and manufactures its products intended for the marine industry in accordance with standards and rules established by IACS and its members. We cooperate with nine of these eleven certification agencies which check design, test, and production of our products intended for marine industry and certify them within Type Approval Certificates, Workshop Approval of production and Design Approval.
Our products are developed, manufactured, and tested, among other things, in accordance with the rules of UR E10, UR E22. We are currently working to include and evaluate compliance with UR E26 and UR E27.
The world is becoming increasingly more connected, with more communications possibilities. This is especially true for the energy control industry, with remote access for greater operational flexibility becoming the norm. Remote monitoring and control enable users to save time and money, and also provide reliable data for making crucial business decisions.
However, this connectedness also increases need for stronger security protection to prevent harmful cyber attacks. We take cyber security seriously at ComAp and continuously enhance our solutions and products with new security features to protect your data and equipment.
