Powertec Diesel Services is a small maintenance company in the Netherlands. They have been collaborating with ComAp and using ComAp's gen-set controllers since 2006. The company has extensive experience with the controllers and mainly use them to replace old control boards.
The company relies mostly on ComAp's InteliGen controllers due the controller's PLC capabilities. When working on CHP projects they prefer to use the InteliSys family of controllers. As the company says, the InteliSys controllers can be used for room ventilation after one runs an emergency generator, releases fuel supply pumps, without using extra relays, and controlling valves in CHP cooling circuits.
New projects are done by Secure Energy. Customers are hospitals, banks etc. They lately used the InteliGen NT for a installation in the St. Maartenskliniek in Nijmegen, which is the major hospital for orthopedic surgery. There are two units in use, one controlling an emergency generator of 2300kVA and one for a 300kW CHP. Both can run in cogeneration.
The advantage of this ComAp installation is that production has zero downtime and minimizes the cost of damaged components due to power outages as well as safe fuel consumption in the load control system when generators run only on the basis of the connected load. In addition we’re also able to monitor and control all the generators and transformers, including changing setpoints from one single point of operations. The general advantages of ComAp products are that they are safe, efficient, cost-effective, and have reliable operation.
